Early feminist geography articles discuss how feminist geographers often approach their research and writing and teaching with the goal of reintroducing what is socially-constructed as “feminist” or “feminine” into the world of research. However, perhaps, thinking in that way just reinforces the dualistic thinking of man-woman, masculine-feminine?
Instead, perhaps, the goal should be to reconsider what it means to be human. What do we wish being human meant? What is the ideal? What would our society look like if we were all allowed to be whole?
As you go through your day and week, pay attention to the world around you – does the society we are all living in reflect those ideal human values? In what ways does it and in what ways doesn’t it?
